60th Birthday Party Theme Idea | A Timeless Event
Have you been searching madly for the perfect 60th birthday party theme idea? When pondering the many different theme ideas, remember to keep in mind the honored one’s personality and taste. Many people elect to fashion a theme party after the decade the person was born in. This can work to some extent however creating a party theme dedicated to the following decade usually works out better because the person is more likely to identify with it.
Take for instance someone born in the early 1950’s, he or she may not identify with Poodle Skirts or Sock Hops even though they were popular during that time. Fast forward another decade into the 1960’s and that same person probably does identify with the music, fashion, automobiles and news of that time.
A 1960’s theme may work well in this case and is very easy to create. First and foremost, ask guests to dress the part. Tie-dyed clothing is very popular right now and is easy to find. Set up a photo booth using a tie-dyed sheet for a backdrop to create mementos for your guests. Supply props such as peace sign glasses, necklaces, or headbands for guests to use during the photos. For table decorations, use tablecloth overlays with a paisley print. Give smiley faced mazes as favors. Include peace signs in your flower arrangements. Have on display 1960’s memorabilia such as framed posters or newspaper articles from the era. Offer karaoke featuring 1960’s music to get your guests into the spirit. You may also wish to include a signature drink to go along with the theme (such as a “Purple Haze”).
Just use your imagination and your party is certain to be a hit. Feel free to view the following photos for inspiration. Theme designed and developed by A Timeless Event. Photos by Rings & Bling Photography.
